Shhh… Here Are Our Park City Summer Secrets

ADVANCED SEARCH

Park City is a magical winter wonderland for ski and snowboarding enthusiasts, regularly appearing on all the best-known Top 10 lists. We’ve got that part mastered, for sure.

But did you know that summers are pretty amazing here, too? It’s a well-guarded secret amongst locals and regular visitors alike, but we’re going to let you in on it. And we’re going to tell you the top reasons why you should consider Park City as much your go-to summer destination as your winter one.

The Wonderful Weather

While the rest of the country is sweating it out and suffering through 100-degree temps and mind-numbing humidity, Park City is easy, breezy, and mostly dry. Our daytime temps fall between the mid-70s and low 80s, with beautiful, crisp mountain breezes. Ahhh!

Pair that with some sunny blue skies and you’ve got the ideal daytime environment, for any summer outdoor activity that appeals to you.

Something for Both Introverts and Extroverts

With far fewer tourists milling about, there’s a laid-back “locals” vibe around town that’s relaxing and peaceful. Smaller crowds translate to a lot less stress for those folks who prefer a more quiet atmosphere.

For those who do like the energy of a crowd, there’s plenty for you, too. Summertime in Park City means an abundance of summer festivals and music concerts. For example, check out the Deer Valley Concert Series and the Utah Symphony’s Deer Valley held at outdoor Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater.

Terrific Hiking Trails

Here’s how to really take advantage of those perfect Utah winter temps! Throw on your hiking shoes, pack some snacks, and head out to one of the many scenic trails in and around Park City.

And there’s something for every skill level. For beginners or easy family hikes, check out Farm Trail, a paved trail that winds through Park City’s historic McPolin Barn off Highway 224.

The Round Valley Trail System features both easy and moderate trails in its 700-mile trail system. Access some of the trailheads at Quinn’s Junction and Old Ranch Road.

For more experienced hikers, you’ll want to visit Fantasy Ridge, which features six miles of beautiful scenery and breathtaking views at its 9900’ peak.
