Let’s be honest here— we may be a bit biased. We love our gorgeous mountain city so much that we think every holiday is the perfect time to visit Park City! And the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday is no exception.
Have you ever thought to yourself that spending Thanksgiving somewhere special was a fantastic idea? We couldn’t agree with you more. Traveling to a beautiful location like Park City for Thanksgiving allows you to skip all the work and hassle of a homebound holiday and simply relax into a vacation where everything is handled. Plus, you can experience some spectacular skiing, too.
If we were you, this is how we would spend an unforgettable Thanksgiving trip to Park City this year.
Where We Would Eat
Butcher’s Chop House, located in historic old town, is one of our favorite spots for a juicy steak. And this year, they’re also open for Thanksgiving, with special menu offerings and turkey day-themed treats. This locally owned establishment features a “family-friendly dining room, a classic wood-paneled whiskey bar (21+), an extensive wine list, and fantastic mountain view dining.” For Thanksgiving, reservations are required.
Flanagan’s on Main is “a true locals’ pub where friends gather for great food and drinks in a warm and comfortable environment.” This homey spot offers authentic Irish goodies and premium beers, plus darts, pool tables, games, TVs, and more! On Thanksgiving, they’re offering up a traditional turkey dinner with all the fixins. Reservations required.
Where We Would Stay
Have a big group? Then we recommend checking out Retreat at Jordanelle 13548
Located right off the Jordanelle Parkway, the Retreat at Jordanelle is a charming community 10 minutes from Old Town Park City and the ski slopes. Close enough to be convenient but far enough out of downtown to provide peace and privacy, this home is perfect for a getaway during any season of the year! With 5 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, and 2700 square feet, it sleeps 12 people perfectly.
If you want something smaller or more cozy, Prospector Lodge 821 would be ideal. This condo is perfect for couples or groups of 2-5 people looking to be close to the Park City ski resorts, historic Main Street, restaurants, clubs, and all the other activities! The unbelievably convenient and completely free shuttle picks up right outside and walking everywhere is super-easy, too.
What We Would Do
There’s plenty to do all over town during this festive holiday weekend. Check out our recommendations for advanced ski excursions, super fun sledding and snow tubing, and other amazing adventures like horseback riding sleigh rides, and dog sledding.
